ChrisRstyle: I clearly haven’t spent as much time as I should at Caruso Caruso — I had absolutely no idea that they carry my favorite Alternative Apparel hoodies! Much cheaper than Free City (and just as comfortable and good-looking). Bought a light blue one, then thought I lost it until it surfaced on my mother this past weekend. Needless to say, she still hasn’t given it back!
Summer Weather April 20, 2010
ChrisRstyle: Last week, it was 80 degrees outside, and let me just tell you I thanked whoever is up there. I have been dying to wear my spring clothes basically since the winter started. I was excited for cold clothes for about the first day, and then realized I missed the warmth and shorts and short sleeves. Here are some great picks for spring!
Prom Season April 13, 2010
SamlovesBham: Hey girls, prom season has arrived! I found my dress and shoes, but if you haven’t I suggest shopping around Downtown Birmingham. I spotted a lot of gorgeous dresses and shoes (and who would miss an opportunity for new shoes?). Cinderella’s Attic (420 E. Frank) has some fantastic vintage dresses and shoes. If you are a serious shoe lover you HAVE to check out the shoes at Tender (271 W. Maple) — a little on the pricey side, but soooo gorgeous!
Yoga Room! March 10, 2010

ChrisRstyle: Against my better judgment, last week I began a challenge with my mom to do yoga everyday for 30 days. Horrible. I love yoga, but after three days, my body had gotten the point. The Yoga Room across from the Townsend, where my mom and I practice, carries awesome shirts, which I have become obsessed with. A portion of the proceeds go to the Hutzel Women’s Hospital at the DMC. So it is a win-win purchase!
Boyfriend Blazer! February 23, 2010
ChrisRstyle: Obviously, if blazers have remained a trend for so long, they probably aren’t going anywhere! A blazer is a great way to dress up anything in your wardrobe, it’s money well spent and it will make any outfit you have look brand new. Here are some great options if you are late to jump on this bandwagon…
Oxfords! January 27, 2010
ChrisRstyle: I, to my dismay, completely missed this trend. Oxfords are taking over every magazine. Completely. Thank goodness we have access to such a thriving downtown area with TONS of different kinds of Oxfords readily accessible. I spotted a great selection at ANTHROPOLOGIE!
Spring Fashion Preview! January 11, 2010
ChrisRstyle: In the ten minutes I’ve spent scanning through the spring collections for next year on Style.com, I am legitimately so excited! The tribal prints, flak jackets and exposed brassieres are going to be TO-DIE-FOR. This season is exactly what we need in these interesting economic times. High schoolers, look at this site and at the trends listed below so you can adapt your looks while shopping in Downtown Birmingham – they are SO chic!
- Alexander Wang’s American football collection
- Peter Dundas designs for Pucci
- Military Influence
- Gingham from Christopher Kane
- Patterns
Crew Neck Sweaters! January 11, 2010
ChrisRstyle: I am obsessed with crew necks; they are actually the most comfortable things on the planet! Lets be honest, every now and then we need a day to just snuggle up in our clothes. I wore one today and it was a religious experience. I HIGHLY recommend them.
Fantasy Christmas List! December 16, 2009
ChrisRstyle: Now, this blog post is going to be the most ridiculous, over the top, example of overindulgence thus far: a fantasy Christmas list for both men and women. I will get right to it…

Acceptable Concert Attire December 1, 2009

LMFAO!
ChrisRstyle: On Friday, I had a religious experience…being just 10 feet away from LMFAO, Shwayze and the Paradiso Girls. I know, too much to handle, right? However, I was disappointed with the attire on my fellow concertgoers! So let’s just say for lack of a better word, UNFASHIONABLE! A bikini, really NOT okay!
