It's the time of year when 40,000+ classic cars and more than one million people line Woodward Avenue to attend the world's largest one-day automotive event, the Woodward Dream Cruise.
The Birmingham Cruise Event is located on South Old Woodward from Merrill to Lincoln. It features 300 classic cars of all makes and models, live entertainment, live broadcasts and more.
2017 Dream Cruise Traffic Control Order
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office announced a temporary traffic control order, which will be in place during the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 19th. It will restrict certain types of traffic on Woodward Avenue (M-1) from 9am to 9pm. This temporary traffic control order will prohibit commercial vehicles, vehicles with trailers, and any vehicle over 10,000 from driving on Woodward Avenue for the designated time period. Individual cars can enter after 9:30 a.m. at Brown and Woodward (Jax Car Wash). 1988 and older models only, please.

Anyone interested in being a vendor during the Dream Cruise, on Saturday, August 19th, will need to complete a Commercial Vending application for the Birmingham Shopping District (please select the appropriate form if you will be on public or private property) as well as a City of Birmingham Vendor application.
If you will be erecting a tent, you will also need to contact the City of Birmingham Community Development Department at (248)530-1850 to see if your tent will require a permit (based on size).
